Experience
Mark acts for commercial, charity and private clients in all aspects of transactions involving commercial property including:
• Acquisitions and disposals of freehold and leasehold property including auction sales, overage and clawback
• All aspects of landlord and tenant work including: granting and taking new leases; assignments of existing leases; licences; the exercising of break options; and advising in connection with lease expiry and dilapidations
• Property management, acting for commercial retailers, private individuals and estates
• Extensive corporate real estate experience, dealing with all property aspects of share and asset sales and purchases
• Undertaking high value residential conveyancing

Recent Transactions

Over the last year Mark has acted in connection with the sale of a development site in Buntingford, Hertfordshire, for The Sons of Divine Providence; advised on the Charities Act 1993 aspects of The Mercers’ Company property reorganisation involving St Paul’s School; acted in connection with the grant of a substantial lease to The Medical Protection Society; and also the grant of a number of underleases for The Institute for Public Policy Research. Mark has also undertaken significant leasehold work for ActionAid; Tulip Mental Health Group; Council for World Mission and Save the Children Fund as well as dealing with rights to light issues for the Royal Town Planning Institute and has also acted for Unite the Union-Amicus Section in connection with a number of property disposals and a significant freehold acquisition, as well as for Ipsos-MORI on a number of leasehold disposals and acquisitions.
Mark's most recent transactions include:
• Acting for various commercial entities including a Russian energy plc, a Russian Bank in taking leases and granting underleases of surplus space in the West End.
• Acting for a US financial services corporation in taking a lease of offices at 30 St Mary Axe ("the Gherkin") and underletting surplus space in the City of London.
• Acting for the lead funder in connection with the provision of quasi-equity funding to a charity developing a school for autistic children in South London.
• Mark has additionally provided property advice to a household name charitable theatrical organisation.

Lectures/Publications
•Contributed to the Property Section of “The Entrepreneur’s Guide to Business Law” published by Jordans
Spoke on a number of subjects including office relocation at the Charities Facilities Conference 2007
• Spoke at the Charity Finance Charities Property Conference in 2008 and 2009
• Mark has also written for the Property Law Journal and Charity Finance.
