Experience
Martin, having worked within general commercial litigation for over 10 years, undertaking both High Court and County Court cases, decided to specialise in employment and discrimination law.

Martin provides contentious and non-contentious employment advice to clients ranging from PLC’s to large “household name” charities and individuals working in the City.

Examples of work undertaken
• Advising on application of TUPE in mergers and outsourcing situations
• Frequent representation in Employment Tribunals and the Employment Appeal Tribunal for both commercial and charity clients
• Representing and advising in respect of multiple claims in the Tribunal relating to TUPE, the transfer of service provisions and the failure to elect representatives
• Advising on claim of breach of restrictive covenants and bringing injunctive claims against employees in the High Court, and defending claims against new employers
• Supervising High Court search and seize injunctions
• Successfully defending claims by employees alleging whistleblowing
• Mediating internal discrimination claims for charity clients and arranging mediations for a number of commercial clients
• Training and advising clients on TUPE Regulations and applicability of the same

Recent Advisory Work
• Obtaining a High Court injunction for a client who discovered senior employees had breached covenants and had taken confidential client information
• Advising on major restructuring and collective consultation process for a number of UK wide clients
• Advising on and negotiating the departure of several Chief Executives and Finance Directors from both commerical and charity clients
• Advising on severance agreements for several Executives resulting in substantial settlement payments
• Advising on merger of several major public and not-for-profit organisations
