Mary Groom
Partner

Mary is a partner in the Charity & Social Enterprise Department. Mary qualified as a solicitor at BWB in 1998, prior to which she was a science teacher in comprehensive schools for ten years. She leads on education policy and state schools for the Education group.

• Establishment of new charities and social enterprises including community interest companies (CICs)
• Establishment of and advice to academies, free schools, maintained schools and education charities
• Establishment of three regional educational leadership centres
• Charity constitutions – changes to, review of, restructuring, incorporation
• Advice to sports clubs and governing bodies on sports charities and Community Amateur Sports Club status
• Commercial contracts
• Reorganisations, transfers and mergers
